3RNet Candidate Registration Promotion & Facility Recognition

3RNet has two major activities planned for NRHD: a candidate registration promotion, and a facility recognition.

How We’re Celebrating Candidates:
New candidate registrations in the month of November will get a $5 Starbucks e-gift card as our way of saying “Happy National Rural Health Day!”

New candidate registrations must do two things when registering to receive their gift card: 1. upload a CV and, 2. enter ‘NRHD’ in the “Location Code” field. Gift cards will be emailed to the email address used when registering within 72 hours. Questions about this can be directed to 3RNet.

How We’re Celebrating Facilities:
We’ve selected a handful of facilities from across the country to receive our second annual recognition for “recruitment and retention excellence”. We reached out to facilities and have asked them to share about themselves by answering a few questions and sending a photo. To help say “job well done!” we’ll send them a $50 gift card so they can treat their staff.

You can view the stories throughout the month of November on our 3RNet blog (https://www.3rnet.org/Resources/News-Announcements) and our social media. For more information contact Kristine Morin at morin@3rnet.org

ASTHO Blog Post Interview

Association of State and Territorial Health Officials is planning a blog post interview with a state health official describing public health innovations to improve rural health; a November 15 State Health Policy blog post, and a possible webinar (TBD).

Celebrating Rural Health Leaders | 2017 Community Stars

On National Rural Health Day, 2017, it is my honor and privilege to introduce this year’s collection of “Community Stars.”

The National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health began collecting and sharing these inspiring and impactful stories two years ago. From Alabama to Oregon, from Pennsylvania to Nebraska and many points in between, rural communities are so very fortunate to have this stand out-group of dedicated men and women working, many in a volunteer capacity, to improve, protect, and advance health and wellness for those who call rural home.

Community Star nominators shared the areas where they felt their Star excelled as it relates to the Pledge. Most were eager to point to several examples of how and where their nominee exemplified the essence of the Pledge. After reading their stories and learning about their work, we have done our best to shine a light on every aspect of each of their tremendous contributions.

On behalf of your partners in the 50 SORH and the staff of the NOSORH, we wish each Community Star every success as you work to improve health in rural America.

Happy National Rural Health Day 2017!

NOSORH Executive Director
