The National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH) is the membership association of the nation’s 50 State Offices of Rural Health (SORH). SORHs are anchors of information and support for rural communities, health professionals, hospitals, and clinics across the nation. They are dedicated to collaboration, education, communication, and innovation to improve health in small towns around the country.
Each year, as a part of the ongoing Power of Rural movement, NOSORH captures and shares essential information and key messages that help to educate various stakeholders about the realities of rural through stories and data.
The information contained in NOSORH’s 2019 Key Message and Essential Data eBook focuses on the type and breadth of data available through NOSORH and each State Office of Rural Health. Though the statistics and factoids presented in this resource tool do not tell the whole story, they are essential to understand when developing policies and programs affecting the health of the estimated 57 million people living in rural areas.
This year’s National Rural Health Day theme is FOCUS. Once you become familiar with the data, NOSORH invites you to get to know the stories of those whose outstanding work relies on resources made possible by SORH.
